The “No-Borders Department” is one of the most important departments of Designcracy. Since this department deals directly with one of the most sensitive legacies of the past, namely geographical borders, the most challenges, sensitivities, conflicts and also processes of planning will be in this department. This department consists of geographers, historians, philosophers, sociologists, lawyers, and of course designers, architects and urban planners and (former) politicians.

One of the responsibilities of this department is to create and manage the “Golden Zones”: the borders of all current countries become the golden economic and investment zones that belong to the whole world. The golden zone is actually two lines parallel to the border at a depth of 10 km on each side. The current countries’ people and companies where the Golden Zone has been created within their current borders will have less right to invest in these zones, and priority will be given to the people from regions that are furthest away from these golden zones.
