Home Chapter Two: The World We Live In

Before digging the pillars and protocols of Designcracy detailed in the following chapters of the book, I need to make a brief introduction to the world we live in which is the product of current systems and product of the ominous legacy of the pasts, in order to prove why Designcracy is a gap in today's world.

In product design discussions, there is a topic called "Semiotics of Products" or in other words "concepts and messages (connotation) which a product contains." Considering this, what is the connotation of the current world "as a product of the current systems" which we live in? By a glance at the trend of issues and events that are happening all around the world (economically, culturally and socially) and the routes they’re heading on, how does such a current world represents systems, structures, and actors which have participated in shaping it? What do we see when we look at this very day’s world created and explored by our ancestors and especially by the financial elite at the top, called superclass? What message does it give to us? Do we see a successful product or a failed one? Do we see a reasoned peace and permanent prosperity and get positive energy, or do we see a world full of chaos, deception, and also a deadly-silence caused by fear of militarism which is the executive arm of the something they call themselves “laws”, and we get a terrible feeling instead of receiving positive energy? The answer to these questions and also the conclusion of this chapter is: "The man-made world lives in an unfavorable situation today." Examples and also the roots of this unfavorable situation are listed in more detail in the following pages.
