Home Chapter One: A Glimpse at Designcracy

To have a preliminary understanding of Designcracy hypothesis, I need to write a few lines about what "design" is. Aside from the trivial discussion of recognizing the Latin or Greek origin of the word “design”, the best definition I have ever read of design is the definition of Herbert Simon, a social scientist and Nobel Prize winner, in his book The Sciences of the Artificial: “Everyone designs who devises courses of action aimed at changing existing situations into preferred ones.” Designcracy is a hypothesis that, in one sentence, is "trying to identify the causes of present and future problems of the individual, society and environment (DC’s triad) and solve them with the help of Design instead of solving it through Politics and other types of ..expired tools like rituals and cultural norms."

The four pillars, on which Designcracy is based, are as follows:

1. Standardization of Social Stratification

2. Standardization of Terminology

3. Unity of DC’s Triad (Individual, Society & Environment)

4. Eleven Designcracy Protocols
